One of the biggest things we focus here at High Plains Perio is your comfort level. We wanna make sure that when you walk in, you feel like you’re somewhere else, you’re not at a dental office or clinic, especially at the oral surgery center that we’re at. The other thing that we look at is when you’re in your chair, we try to keep it comfortable, neck pillows and blankets because it can be a little cold here. The other thing is you’re able to choose some music, and a lot of patients request IV sedation, that way they can feel comfortable throughout their procedure. We also have other options available such as nitrous gas, or oral sedation. In that way, we can make sure that you’re getting the best care in a manner that you appreciate and are comfortable with.
Get Your Teeth in the Right Shape for Your Crown with Gingival Contouring
Dental crowns, which cover your entire tooth, are an indispensable method for repairing dental damage. When your teeth are too short or your damage is significant enough to reach the gum level, your smile needs extra preparation before you receive a dental crown. Since a crown acts like a cap, it needs enough room to go on top of your tooth but with enough space for soft tissue areas so your gums don’t become irritated or infected.
Your dentist has likely referred you to our office for a contouring procedure. You can trust our advanced treatment techniques and dental technology for a successful procedure. We’ll start with panoramic X-rays of your mouth and 3-D imaging for proper planning. When it’s time, our periodontist can:
- Gently manipulate your gumline to reveal more of your tooth’s surface
- Remove uneven edges and similar issues from your tooth to ensure a proper crown fit
- Build up the bone in your tooth to ensure it has the strength to support a crown
Once your mouth has healed, your dentist can place the crown.
While we understand some patients may feel nervous, there’s no reason to be when you’re with us. We have three kinds of sedation to ease your anxiety. You can also cozy up with headphones, TV or music, a pillow, and a blanket so you feel right at home.
