Advanced Dental Technology
CBCT ScanningCBCT scanning is a cone beam computed tomography technology. This type of scanning technology uses a cone-shaped X-ray beam that rotates a full 360 degrees around your head to capture a 3-dimensional image of the structures in your mouth, including soft tissues, bone, teeth, sinus cavities, nasal passageways, joints, and nerves. The process for getting the scan is quick and completely painless. It takes less than 60 seconds to take a full image, which is then displayed just a short time later in 3D on a computer monitor. The machine works by capturing a series of images as it rotates around your head. It takes anywhere between 150 and 600. As soon as the scan is complete, the technology pieces the images together to create a singular 3-dimensional image.
The technology used to capture images with CBCT scanning is similar to digital X-ray technology. The images produced are closer to those produced by a traditional CT scan. CBCT scanning, however, exposes you to less radiation than traditional CT scanning technology. Once the scan is complete, we can then use specialized software to manipulate your image in some different ways. We can rotate it, zoom in on it, and enhance it. These features allow us to provide accurate diagnoses and more accurate treatment plans. Read more about CBCT Scanning

Digital Intraoral CamerasAn intra-oral camera combines the latest imaging technologies with dental and periodontal care. Both the patient and doctor can see detailed images of the teeth and mouth in real time. With an intra-oral camera, you are able to better understand what is happening in your mouth and review the status of your oral health.
Oral Cancer ScreeningOral cancer affects thousands of Americans yearly. We use the latest technology to detect changes in oral tissue consistencies and/or lesions. A specialized light is shined into the mouth to detect unhealthy tissue. Healthy tissue looks lighter under the light while spots of bad tissue appear dark. With early detection, cancer may be caught before it has time to spread, potentially saving lives.
