Crystal Blackbourne – Lead Surgical Assistant
Hello! My name is Crystal Blackbourne. I was born in Lubbock, Texas in 1982. I was raised by my grandmother who instilled in me hard working values and taught me how to become a strong, successful, independent woman. I graduated from Monterey High School in 2000. In high school, I volunteered to help special needs students with their art work. I loved to see their smiles when they completed their masterpieces! I completed Dental Assisting school in 2006. I also ran my own professional painting business for 5 years. I am a surgical assistant here at High Plains Periodontics and joined the HPP team in 2017. I have attended several continuing education courses to help strengthen my skills as a periodontal surgical assistant. I enjoy being in the dental field; it makes me feel good knowing I have helped a person in pain or I have helped to transform their smiles to give them their confidence back! I pride myself in compassionate patient care. People shouldn’t be scared to go to the dentist. Gaining a patient’s trust is always my first goal. I am a surgical assistant by day and a baseball mom by night! In my free time, I do art work and spend as much time with my three kiddos as I can.
“Be someone’s reason to smile today!”
