Deborah Henderson – Office Manager/Financial Coordinator

Hello! My name is Deborah Henderson. I’m a country girl born in the piney woods of Palestine, Texas. We moved to Marshall, Texas during my elementary years and I graduated from Marshall High School. I’ve been in the medical or dental field for the last 35+ years, with 25 of those being dental. I have had the opportunity to work with some of the finest doctors in dentistry. Each time it has been an incredible learning experience. Through the years, I have specialized in dental and surgical assistance and worked with patient insurance and financial help within the dentistry field. My CE focus is in the area of office management with the purpose of providing help to the doctor and patients I have the joy of meeting.

My husband is a pastor with Southcrest Baptist here in Lubbock. I find a great deal of satisfaction working with him in ministry as well as promoting women’s ministry in the Lubbock area. I am proud to be a directing member of the team that hosts the women’s event, “Fabulous Faith.” It is always a pleasure to work with City Wide Dental here in the Lubbock area as well.

My job gives me enormous satisfaction of serving alongside doctors with a heart for helping people and the team of women that serve with them. There is joy in helping hurting people and seeing them get the help they need. Each patient is different with a different set of needs. It is always a learning experience in this field of work. It is fulfilling to help people in need and see their lives improved through dental improvement. To see people in their everyday lives that you have had the opportunity to help is always a joyful reunion!

The only thing I can think of that is better is the time I get to spend with my children and grandchildren. Being the wife of a pastor means there is always somewhere to be and something to do. I consider it all a joy!

“Grief can take care of itself, but to get the full value of joy you must have somebody to divide it with.” – Mark Twain

I can do all this through him who gives me strength. -Philippians 4:13

Hello! My name is Crystal Blackbourne. I was born in Lubbock, Texas in 1982. I was raised by my grandmother who instilled in me hard working values and taught me how to become a strong, successful, independent woman. I graduated from Monterey High School in 2000. In high school, I volunteered to help special needs students with their art work. I loved to see their smiles when they completed their masterpieces! I completed Dental Assisting school in 2006. I also ran my own professional painting business for 5 years. I am a surgical assistant here at High Plains Periodontics and joined the HPP team in 2017. I have attended several continuing education courses to help strengthen my skills as a periodontal surgical assistant. I enjoy being in the dental field; it makes me feel good knowing I have helped a person in pain or I have helped to transform their smiles to give them their confidence back! I pride myself in compassionate patient care. People shouldn’t be scared to go to the dentist. Gaining a patient’s trust is always my first goal. I am a surgical assistant by day and a baseball mom by night! In my free time, I do art work and spend as much time with my three kiddos as I can.
